Flatware: Process_

Whilst sketching and CAD formed part of the early development of the project, foam quickly became the medium of development. This allowed instantaneous real-life feedback on factors such as weight distribution and ergonomics not replicable on a computer.

After model development in foam, prototypes were made from 12mm brass bar-stock. Each piece was outlined on a bandsaw using CAD templates based on final foam models; the blanks were then refined with a combination of files and linishers prior to polishing.
