Much of the development of the mask revolved around testing subtle variations in shape and fabric layering. Early iterations were drawn and edited in Adobe Illustrator which, in conjunction with a laser cutter, allowed for the rapid production of different variants.

As the design became more refined, the drawings moved into CAD which afforded more accurate control of the forms. Eventually, moulds were produced for forming the foam core parts of the mask and production specifications were compiled for sampling the masks in Taiwan.
