Leather blanks are burnished before the edge is finished with a light coat of English beeswax. 

By minimising the manufacturing processes and supplying the product in parts for assembly by the consumer, a higher proportion of the unit budget was freed up to be spent on higher quality materials, thus increasing the overall value of the product.
